Amy is here to help you get the most out of your time at University through getting involved in our societies, activities and volunteering projects.
"In all honesty I originally chose The University of Hull because it was a perfect distance away from home, far enough away that my grandparents wouldn’t make an unexpected visit but close enough to not worry about going back if I felt a little homesick. Hull very quickly became my home however, not in a small part due to the little family I made for myself in the Performing Arts Society, my first step into the activities zone. From there I moved into the SEC, became Chair of Societies and got involved with RAG and Student Media. The one piece of advice I would give to everyone is to get involved with something extra-curricular during your time at University, being involved in these activities quite simply changed my life and they are the reason I ran for my current position.
I have learnt a great deal about myself and others during my time working for and volunteering with HUU, it has given me a great deal of opportunities and has encouraged me (sometimes quite forcefully!) to mature as a person and as a professional. My time here has also set me on the path to my dream career working in the charity sector for animal and conservation charities."
