Jack is here to help you get the most out of your time at University through getting involved in our societies, activities and volunteering projects.
After starting student life in Hull three years ago as a Music Technology student, I quickly immersed myself in the wild, wonderful world of societies - and over the course of my time here, I’ve found new interests and skills, discovered more about the things I enjoy, and forged a huge number of great friendships with some awesome people. In all honesty, I probably spent far too much time enjoying societies and the university lifestyle - and after making my way through several exec teams for different societies and committees, I found myself in the role of Activities Officer!
I’ve tried, over the years, to take in as much of the student experience as was offered to me, at points attending society events every single night of the week. I also co-hosted two shows on Jam Radio - our student radio service - as well as becoming a regular patron of karaoke… putting those music credentials to good use! From raising money at charity gaming marathons to bringing entire societies across the country for meet-ups and conventions, I’ve been all over the Activities Zone - but I’m always ready to be surprised and amazed by the phenomenal work that our volunteers put in each year, so let’s make it a good one!
