We all know that the University of Hull’s sports facilities are lacking and in dire need of improvement, so now the time has come to run a long awaited campaign in the hope of putting pressure on the University to improve our sports facilities.
The campaign is quite simple, there’s 3 easy steps:
Pick up a postcard from the Student’s Union either main reception, 1st floor reception, the AU desk or VP Sport’s office.
Fill out the postcard with your suggestions to improve the current sports facilities, if you’re in an Athletic Union Club add this on too and the year you’re in.
Then post it in one of the 2 post-boxes, there’s one on the ground floor of the Student’s Union by reception or on the 1st floor by the AU desk.
Some of the things you could include on the postcard are;
How do you think they could be improved?
What is wrong with the facilities now?
How it has impacted on you and your degree?
What benefit sport and physical activity has to the student experience?
What have you gained from sport and physical activity?
Why do you think sport and physical activity is so beneficial?
Why should the University invest in facilities?
Once we’ve got the majority of the postcards back, we will then deliver them to the Vice-Chancellor in the hope he takes notice of the student voice and acts upon it.
There are 2000 postcards available, the more we send to the Vice-Chancellor the better chance we stand, so let’s see if we can get them all filled out!
*Presidents of clubs/societies/activities etc; if you want to come and collect multiple postcards for your group, you are more than welcome to do so.
Your Sabbatical team will be wandering all over campus and the sports facilities in the coming weeks encouraging students to fill out the postcards.
If we want the sports facilities to improve, it is really important that as many people as possible get on board with this campaign.
Let’s do a thing!
