NUS Extra have yet again expanded their range of over 160 brands to give students savings on even more essentials - including weekly groceries.

At HUU we support NUS extra cards and offer 10% discount on the majority of our services.  This includes 10% discount all day every day at the Union shop, which is great for picking up all the essentials from lunch and stationery, to University hoodies and memorabilia. Students can also receive 10% discount on all food and drink in Sanctuary and Jonny Mac until 8pm every day.

Major supermarket Co-operative Food have now announced that they have joined forces with the NUS to give students a 10% discount on all groceries at more than 3,600 participating Co-operative food stores across the UK.

This includes the Co-operative in Cottingham which is the closest supermarket to the halls of residence The Lawns, Needler and Thwaite, giving our students great savings on their weekly grocery shop.

The discount will be available from Monday 23 September – just in time for Welcome Week.

    Where can I get one?

    • You can order an NUS card now online at www.nus.org.uk/nus-extra. The card will be delivered to reception at University House for you to pick up, you will get an email notification when its ready.

    • You can also pick one up from the Freshers Fair marquee, where we will have helpful representatives to answer any questions and assist with signing up on designated computers.

    • If you decide later on that you want one, you can pick one up at any point in the year from at UPrint on the 1st floor of the Students Union, this may take a couple of days to activate for use online but in the meantime it can still be used in the Union shops and bars!
