From the 1st February we will be trialling an ‘All Gender’ Toilet on the ground floor of our building (previously the female toilets opposite the stairway).

New temporary signage will be displayed outside the toilet to state ‘All Gender’ which means toilets and/or bathroom facilities, which do not have an assigned gender or require the person using them to define into a gender.

The Union’s highest decision-making authority Union Council passed a motion put forward by LGBT+ Committee, to create an all gender toilet following feedback from their members.

The trial starts February 1st, is expected to run up until 14th March. We would like to hear your feedback on this, which will then inform the outcome. If you wish to contribute feedback, please contact your Vice-President Welfare and Community, Ashleigh Davies at huu-welfare@hull.ac.uk. You can also attend Union Council on 11th April and get your voice heard at the highest decision making body of the university.

Please look out for information posters explaining the assignment of the new all gender toilet, maps displaying the locations of your nearest gender specific /All Gender toilets and their availability.  FAQ’s have also been created and shared on hullstudent.com/AGT to help deal with any questions you may have.
