The HUU Awards is an annual event that celebrates the efforts and achievements of the amazing students who volunteer throughout Hull University Union. The many students who are involved in volunteering, HUSSO projects, LINKS, Hullfire Media, Raising and Giving are just a few of the significant contributors within HUU.

You might not think yourself a volunteer, but if you are on a committee for a society or sports team, part of student media, contribute to liberation campaigns, a course rep or give your time to improve the lives of other students, then you are a most definitely a volunteer!

All students who have been nominated for an award will receive an email to let them know this. The nominees will then be reduced to a short-list of three volunteers per award, by the student officers and staff at HUU. Measures are taken in the shortlisting process to eradicate bias and ensure this is a fair and transparent process

A full list of nominated and shortlisted candidates will also be put onto the website for everyone to see from Monday 27th March

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 12th May 2017 in Asylum. The evening will include a drinks reception, the awards presentation, a two-course dinner with wine, entertainment and an after-party in Johnny Mac with treats for all

It is a free event, to reward and recognise the essential contribution of student volunteers within the organisation and promises to be a night filled with joy and celebration

Tickets to the event are available by application through our website from Monday 27th March until Friday 28th April. All shortlisted candidates will be given a priority invitation with a guest, and then remaining numbers will be filled on a first come, first served basis for all student volunteers

Thank you so much for all you do for the Union and the wider community, both on and off campus.  We look forward to seeing you at the HUU Awards 2017 in May.
