Location: Allam Medical Building - Lecture Theatre 1
Professor Harry Ferguson is a qualified social worker who has conducted empirical studies into social work practice since the 1990’s. Harry’s research seeks to illuminate the world of practice with a focus on the complex relationships between social workers and service users, in addition to the impact of interventions. Harry regularly speaks at national and international conferences, in addition to seminars/workshops to academic and practitioner audiences, and has produced 70 papers since 2013. As such, this reflects the deepening interest in his published work and the findings of his ethnographic research into social work practice in child protection. Harry has also written a seminal text: Child Protection Practice, which is featured on the reading lists for University of Hull social work students. This event will draw from Harry’s seminal text, as such, a must attend event for those interested in child protection. However, Harry’s focus on relationships between social workers and service users, and the impact of interventions thereof, makes this event vital for all social work students.
