We’ll be there for you! Why not try something new?
Meet fresh faces, share your interests, have fun and maybe even make friends for life.
This is a FREE EVENT FOR ALL but must be BOOKED IN ADVANCE.
WelcomeFest Marquee from 6pm - 8pm - PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME, this is a structured event and a great way to make friends!
Speed-Friending is a new, super fun and easy way to make connections with others and gives attendees a great chance to meet many people in a fast and structured way.
You'll be welcome in a group, with a friend or by yourself to spend time in comfortable surroundings where you can safely meet other people studying at the University of Hull.
Come along and find out more about how Speed Friending works, with friendly help and guidance from the student officer team to help you make the most of this opportunity.
You will be given stickers, something to makes notes about the people you talk to and helpful questions to get conversations started. Groups will chat together for a short, fixed period of time, then the bell will ring and you'll make notes, and move on to the next group! At the end you will have the chance to chat freely to people who you made a connection with.
Research show that having good friends lowers our stress, enhances our moods, protects us from diseases and increases our self-confidence, though often busy lifestyles, moving to a new area or the fact that we all rely on social media and less and less on face to face socialising, means opportunities to make new friends and meet people can be limited.
Get the new semester off to a fabulous, sociable start.
This event welcomes all students from Home and Overseas.
Tickets can be booked in person at HUU Reception Mon – Fri between 10am-4pm.
Your Union endeavours to make all activities accessible to all wherever possible, however please contact Chloe, Student Activities Co-ordinator on 01482 466297 if you have any specific access requirements or questions about access to this event. email@example.com
