Have you ever fancied participating in a true Olympic sport?? Well if team work, high levels of fitness and an unparalleled social environment appeals to you, then look no further than Rowing with Hull University Boat Club. Whether you are a complete novice or a veteran of the sport, HUBC can cater for you.
We hold 2 circuit-training sessions a week where the entire club trains together, with additional activities held on Wednesday afternoons e.g. Boathouse run/cycle. Furthermore, various water sessions are held during the week where rowing technique and racing practise are perfected. We compete at various events throughout both semesters, usually leading to the BUCS Regatta (the ‘university and collage Olympics’) in May.
In addition to the physical aspects, HUBC is one of the largest AU clubs boasting a fantastic social scene. This includes Wednesday social antics, hosted by the club social secs, ending up in Asylum nightclub or beyond. The Boat Club Ball sees current members and old blades attend a formal sit down dinner, proceeded by the fresher’s cabaret, club auction and disco dance + many more.
So if you wish to be a competitive, recreational or social member, HUBC will surely fulfil your ultimate university experience here at Hull.
