Joining the Aquatic Scientist Society is a great way for aquatic enthusiasts of all years within the University to meet and gain volunteering experience in this area of science, as well as have lots of fun doing so whether you study an aquatic course or not!
The society is a hub for study and revision for those studying an aquatic science course, studying an aquatic module or those looking to learn more in this area of science. With our very own Educational Secretary, they will be organising various study sessions and providing special revision guide help for paid members. Additionally our Facebook group enable members to post revision and study aids or questions as well as general queries about the society.
We will offer numerous volunteering opportunities given our collaboration with charities such as MARINElife, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Living Seas and Pearson Park, which will enable members to boost CV and job applications. We also offer fun trips which have included seal watching in Donna Nook for members, to prove we are not all work and no play!
With our dedicated Social Secretary we offer many socials, both drinking and non-drinking, including karaoke nights, joint socials, themed socials and much more to help cool off and have fun after a long day of work and study.
